New Characters and Returning Favourites in Venom 3
Moreover to Tom Hardy back as Eddie Brock and Venom, the film is offering some new faces like Ted Lasso’s Juno Temple and Doctor Strange’s Chiwetel Ejiofor. Of course, Ejiofor has not come back as Karl Mordo, but he is a soldier after Eddie and Venom in the trailer. Juno Temple is the one who is a scientist which is helping Ejiofor’s character. The director, Kelly Marcel is known for her work on Venom (2018), Venom 2: Let There Be Carnage (2021), Fifty Shades of Grey and Saving Mr. Banks and fans are excited to see how she will wrap up the trilogy.
Venom 3 The Last Dance was initially scheduled to be released in July 2024 but due to labour strikes in Hollywood, Sony changed the release date to 25th of October, 2024. The film has been shot in various locations specifically in Catagena, Los Angeles and London with a talented team of cast and crew working on this final chapter of the Venom trilogy.
In a veiled manner, Tom Hardy pointed out R rating for the final product and drew a parallel with the globally R-rated blockbuster, the “Deadpool” series. Villain in Venom 3: The Last Dance?
Patrick Mulligan aka Toxin takes center stage in the villain role in Venom 3: The Last Dance. His first appearance was in Venom: Let There Be Carnage. Mulligan is a San Francisco detective who manages to escape a near-death situation with Shriek. This is when he begins to change into Toxin, which is suggested by the fact that he has iridescent blue eyes.
In the Marvel Comics, Toxin, the third major Symbiote, and the child of Carnage, initially stands for a hero and has a strong moral compass as a police officer and, therefore, is influenced by Mulligan.
Toxin’s powers include superhuman strength, flashy speed, agility and durability which makes him potentially more stronger opponent as compared to Venom and Carnage. According to comic book version of Toxin, he has the ability to crawl on walls and project webbing due to Venom’s past bond with Spider-Man. It yet has to be seen how this will be adapted in the Sony Spider-Man Universe.
Venom 3 To Be Having Longest Runtime in Trilogy
In Venom trilogy, The Last Dance is already being hailed as a longest record time. According to sources, this new movie is likely to have a runtime that will last for 2 hours and 15 minutes to 20 minutes which in turn means 135 to 140 minutes in total. With this, the Venom sequel become a total of 360 minutes, thus making it longer than its first two films. With over running 2 hours, it was slightly longer than Venom (2018) which was 112 minutes and Venom: Let There Be Carnage which was a brisk 97 minutes.
