What Are Pet Mutations?
Pet mutations are special upgrades that enhance your pets’ abilities in Roblox. Added in the July 2025 update, these mutations give pets new powers like XP boosts, crop enhancements, or defensive traits. Each pet can have only one mutation at a time and mutating replaces any existing one. Mutations change your pet’s appearance and function, making them more valuable for farming and progression.

How to Mutate Pets in Grow a Garden
The Pet Eggs shop looks pretty simple, no eggs are on display like any other shops in the game. Right next to it, you will find the new Pet Mutation Station. There are two ways you can mutate pets:

1. Pet Mutation Station
To mutate your best pets using the Pet Mutation Station, follow these steps:
- Head to the Pet Mutation Station, located just to the left of the Gear and Pet Eggs stall.
- Choose a pet that is aged 50 or above. The pet needs to have at least level 50 XP to be eligible for mutation.
- Press the ‘E’ key to submit the pet and pay 500 million Sheckles to start the mutation process.
- A timer will show how long the mutation takes. Once the timer ends, press ‘E’ again to pick up your newly mutated pet.
2. Pet Mutation Shard
You can get limited-time Mutation Shards in the game. These shards apply directly to a single pet, instantly giving it a specific mutation. For example, by following the cooking recipes in Roblox Grow a Garden, you can trade food items for a Fried Mutation shard or an Aromatic Mutation shard that immediately mutates your pet.
Benefits of Pet Mutations
Mutated pets provide more passive bonuses to your garden, like speed boosts, fruit growth enhancements, and extra rewards. Some mutations make your pets more powerful overall, helping you progress faster in the game.
